PSICO.COM. - Management of the Psychopedagogical Skills of Trainers in the Construction Sector (2008 - 2010)

Proposed project within the Leonardo Programme whose main objective is to develop a computer system which, based on a thorough analysis of psychopedagogical skills of trainers for construction, enables the evaluation of these skills, its management and the improvement of its performance. It also includes specific training to enable the achievement of these objectives.

Training Tools

This project is proposed within the Leonardo Programme and is instituted in response to the key priority of the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP), or in other words, to reinforce the contribution of education and training in order to achieve the objective established in Lisbon: convert the European Union into a highly competitive economic area based on knowledge and characterised by a sustainable economic development, with an increased rate of higher quality jobs and increased social cohesion. On this basis, one of the priority actions is to improve the quality of education and training of the staff, in particular, of teachers and trainers.

The Foundation, as an applicant entity, carries out the general coordination functions of the association formed for this project, and specifically coordinates the field research carried out in Spain. It also participates on expert advice in the development of the platform to train trainers to use in the pilot experiment in our country.

The objective is to develop a computer system which, based on a thorough analysis of psychopedagogical skills of trainers for construction, enables the evaluation of these skills, its management and the improvement of its performance by carrying out specific training for this purpose.

The target group of this project is comprised of those professionals in the field of education who provide their services as trainers in vocational training for employment in the specific area of the trades of the construction sector. The main characteristic of this group, which distinguishes the group from other sectors, is their high technical qualification acquired from their work experience. However, they lack the psychopedagogical skills.
